Referer or URI Authentication

It is possible to control your access to 123Library by Referer or URI. Users who come immediately from a specified link will be automatically logged in to your 123Library account.

For example, you might have a link to an eBook or your “/mylibrary/” page (or indeed any page on 123Library) on your intranet at pages such as this:

In this case we would want to set up your Referer as “http://my-university.ac.uk/library/

Any user clicking a link to 123Library from a page that begins “http://my-university.ac.uk/library/” would then be automatically logged in to your account and identified as coming from your institution.

Such users will be anonymous unless they either have a personalisation cookie or until they log in to their personalised account.
